Warming Trends Burners

Selected for their reliability, efficiency, and precision, Crossfire® burners from Warming Trends come standard in every natural gas or propane Lumacast fire feature.

Every Lumacast fire feature is the result of careful design—form, proportion, surface, and material working together to create an outdoor gathering point unlike anything else. So when it came to selecting a burner system, the decision wasn’t driven by marketing buzzwords or a need to produce the biggest flames possible. It was about choosing a system that supports the kind of experience we’re designing for—and that our clients expect.

That’s why we use Crossfire burners from Warming Trends—not as a selling point, but as a standard. They offer unmatched flame quality, fuel efficiency, and long-term reliability in real-world conditions

WaterStop™

Good design isn’t just about what you see—it’s how something performs quietly, consistently, and without complication. The WaterStop system, built into every Crossfire burner, prevents water from entering the fuel line. That means your fire feature lights cleanly—even after rain, snow, or long periods of inactivity.

Originally only available on round burner formats, we worked with Warming Trends to make WaterStop standard across every burner we use—including linear and custom configurations. Today, it’s included in all of our natural gas and propane models, ensuring reliable ignition across the entire Lumacast collection.

It’s an internal safeguard most people will never notice, but one that plays an important role in long-term reliability. So effective, the system allows Crossfire burners to operate even while submerged.

Key details:

  • Prevents water intrusion and ignition failure
  • Burner lights reliably in all weather
  • Available on all Lumacast burner shapes and formats
  • Capable of operating while fully submerged

Why brass matters

Every Lumacast fire feature is designed to live outdoors—and that includes the burner system inside. Crossfire burners are cast from solid brass, a material chosen for its resistance to rust, corrosion, and especially salt air exposure in coastal environments.

The nozzles are precision-machined on Swiss turning equipment, ensuring consistent fuel delivery and flame pattern performance over time. It’s a detail you’ll likely never see, but one you’ll benefit from every time you light your fire.

Key details:

  • Solid brass construction resists corrosion
  • Precision-machined nozzles for long-term reliability
  • Suited for coastal, humid, and variable climates

Efficient by design

Heat alone isn’t what makes a fire feature great. What matters more is the feeling it creates—the glow, the movement, the comfort of staying outside a little longer. Crossfire burners produce a rich, full-bodied flame designed to draw people in, not overwhelm the space.

Thanks to the venturi-driven design, Crossfire burners create a more robust flame using less gas. With a traditional stainless steel burner, you’d typically have to open the fuel valve to its maximum to achieve the same output that a Crossfire system delivers at half that setting. It's the difference between a carbureted engine and modern fuel injection: smoother, more responsive, and far more efficient.

That level of control matters—especially when you’re using your fire feature often. It means lower fuel costs, a reduced environmental footprint, and a more refined experience overall.

Key details:

  • Venturi-driven flame delivers more with less
  • Lower gas usage compared to stainless steel burners
  • Smoother control, lower operating cost, and extended usability
  • Designed for comfort, ambiance, and long evenings

Backed for life

Reliability isn’t just about materials or engineering—it’s also about support. Crossfire burners come with a lifetime warranty on all solid brass components, offering peace of mind that lasts well beyond the first season.

We’ve selected this system not only because it works, but because it keeps working—with the backing to prove it.

Key details:

  • Lifetime warranty on all brass burner components
  • Covers material defects and manufacturing faults
  • Adds long-term confidence to your investment

Crossfire® burners are selected to support what our designs are ultimately meant to deliver: a better experience outdoors.

They perform quietly, reliably, and efficiently—so what you remember isn’t the system inside, but the atmosphere it helped create. That’s what matters most.

Every Lumacast natural gas or propane-powered fire feature includes a Crossfire burner—carefully matched to the size and geometry of each model for optimal performance. Whether you're selecting a quick-ship model or configuring a made-to-order feature, Warming Trends comes standard.

FAQ

Yes. Each burner is configured specifically for either natural gas or propane before it ships, depending on your selection. Be sure to choose the correct fuel type when ordering to ensure proper flame performance and safety.

Not necessarily. Crossfire® burners can be used with manual ignition or paired with an electronic ignition system. If you choose an electronic system, it must be intentionally activated through a switch, timer, or smart control. It does not turn on automatically.

Warming Trends® offers a lifetime warranty on all solid brass burner components. Ignition systems or other accessories may have separate warranty terms depending on the manufacturer.

Absolutely. With solid brass construction and the WaterStop™ system, Crossfire® burners are ideal for rain, snow, freeze–thaw cycles, and coastal conditions alike.

Crossfire® burners are manufactured in two distinct versions: one for natural gas and one for propane. These systems are not interchangeable without modification. If your fuel source changes, the nozzles on the burner must be swapped to match the new fuel type using a compatible conversion kit.

Using a burner that has not been properly configured for the correct fuel source poses significant safety risks and is not advised. Conversion kits are available by contacting our team or the manufacturer directly, and all modifications should be performed by a licensed professional.

Crossfire® burners are relatively quiet for the amount of flame they produce. While any high-output gas burner may generate some audible movement of air and flame, most users find the sound minimal and unobtrusive—easily masked by conversation or ambient outdoor noise.

Crossfire® burners are extremely low maintenance thanks to their solid brass construction. However, we recommend visually inspecting the burner and gas line seasonally—especially after heavy rain or long periods of non-use. Always keep burner ports clear of debris, and use a protective cover or tabletop when the fire feature is not in use.

Yes, but if you live at elevations above 5,000 feet, gas pressure and air mixture may affect flame performance. In these cases, we recommend notifying your installer or our team so we can provide burner configuration guidance specific to high-altitude use.

Brass is naturally corrosion-resistant and chemically stable, especially in wet or coastal environments. It won’t rust, pit, or degrade like stainless steel. Crossfire® burners are precision-cast from solid brass, which means no welds to crack and no seams to fail—just consistent, long-term performance designed for outdoor use.

No—Lumacast fire features are only available with our specified burner systems, which are precision-fit and performance-tested for each model. We use Crossfire® brass burners from Warming Trends® exclusively, due to their superior output, durability, and integrated safety features like WaterStop™.

Stainless steel burners may be less expensive upfront, but they’re prone to corrosion, performance degradation, and eventual replacement. Our all-brass systems are designed for long-term reliability and are backed by a lifetime warranty—ensuring you get the most out of your investment.
