BOLA VECTOR

BOLA Vector is an exploration of line, color, and three-dimensional concrete casting.

Color and pattern, embedded in form.

Two BOLA Vector side tables, the line running across the top and down the side

Beginning with the soft geometry of our BOLA Side Table, we set out to investigate a simple question: what if color and line could become part of the concrete itself?

In nature, color is rarely separate from form. The markings of a butterfly wing, the pattern of an animal’s coat, or the contrasting color within a flower are not applied to the object. They emerge as part of it.

BOLA FIRE FEATURE

A BOLA Vector side table with its line cast tone on tone

Vector explores this same relationship through concrete. Rather than treating color as an overlay, complementary colors are cast together, becoming integral to a singular three-dimensional form.

Traditional two-color and inlaid concrete techniques are expressed only across flat surfaces, from patterned tile to architectural panels and tabletops. Vector takes the process into three dimensions, allowing lines of complementary color to move across and through the curved geometry of the BOLA.

The result is a familiar form transformed by a new layer of expression. Vector lines appear to slice through the concrete, wrapping continuously across its surface and emphasizing the softness and curvature of the BOLA geometry.

Placed individually, each BOLA Vector becomes a graphic object. Arranged together, the linework begins to connect. Vectors extend visually from one table to another, allowing multiple pieces to form larger compositions through color, orientation, and repetition.
