Smooth Basalt Infill – Safety Notice & Terms of Use
These Terms apply to the purchase of smooth basalt infill (“Product”) from Lumacast, Inc. By proceeding with the selection and purchase of this infill media, you (“the Client” or “Customer”) acknowledge and agree to the following Terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Material Characteristics
Smooth Basalt is a naturally occurring volcanic stone. Due to its geological properties, it may crack or fracture when exposed to high heat—particularly if moisture is present. This can result in audible popping, the ejection of stone fragments, or other unexpected effects during operation.
2. Risk of Injury or Property Damage
The Client understands and accepts that use of Smooth Basalt infill may pose risks, including but not limited to:
-
Damage to outdoor furniture, or surfaces;
-
Burned clothing or personal injury caused by airborne fragments;
-
Fire hazard or system malfunction resulting from improper use or installation.
Lumacast, Inc. is not responsible for any such injury or damage. The Client assumes full liability.
3. Installation Requirements
To reduce risk and ensure safe operation, the following conditions must be met:
-
Inspect all stones prior to installation. Discard any stones with cracks or visible defects.
-
Install only when dry. Moisture in the stones significantly increases the likelihood of popping.
-
Do not cover burner nozzles or openings. Maintain appropriate clearance to ensure proper ignition and gas flow.
-
On first use, burn at medium flame for 20–30 minutes to allow residual moisture to dissipate safely.
Failure to follow these guidelines may result in injury or damage and void any applicable warranty coverage.
4. Maintenance & Safe Use
-
Keep unused stones in a dry, protected environment.
-
If exposed to rain, snow, or humidity, allow all stones to fully dry before lighting the fire feature.
-
Use an all-weather cover or tabletop when not in use to prevent moisture intrusion.
5. Warranty Disclaimer
Smooth Basalt infill is supplied by a third-party manufacturer. Lumacast, Inc. does not offer warranty coverage for this product. All performance-related concerns, product defects, or inquiries must be addressed directly with the original supplier. Lumacast assumes no responsibility for damages or claims arising from use or misuse.

By selecting Smooth Basalt, the Client agrees to use this product at their own risk. Lumacast, Inc. shall not be liable for:
-
Any direct, incidental, or consequential damages arising from its use;
