The CINTA Sculptural Seating represents a natural evolution of LUMACAST’s approach to sculptural concrete, translating our language of organic geometry, material, and craft into our first Sculptural Seating design. Conceived as much as a sculptural object within the landscape as a place to sit, CINTA moves effortlessly between furniture and sculpture.
An extension of our CINTA fire feature, the Sculptural Seating builds upon the flowing ribbon-like geometry that defines the family. Cinta, meaning “ribbons,” is expressed through contours that travel laterally across the form, flowing in and out across its surface to create a continuous sense of movement. As the contours shift between shadow and highlight, the Sculptural Seating changes with light and perspective, revealing a different form from every angle.
CINTA reflects the process at the heart of LUMACAST—organic forms inspired by nature, refined through digital design, and ultimately brought to life by hand. Each piece moves from computational development and physical prototyping into a deeply hands-on process of mold preparation, casting, finishing, and sealing. Technology allows us to explore and refine the geometry; craft gives the final piece its material character.
CINTA can stand alone or be paired with multiple Sculptural Seating to create larger sculptural compositions.
Designed for both exterior and interior environments, CINTA can anchor a courtyard or entryway, define a gathering space, or exist as a standalone sculptural object within a garden or landscape.
