That belief became the foundation for LUMACAST in 2016, but its origins began years earlier through the study of architecture, a fascination with concrete as a design material, and a desire to create products where design, engineering, and craftsmanship are inseparable. From the very beginning, our goal has never been to simply manufacture outdoor products—it has been to create enduring designs that elevate the spaces and experiences they become part of.
Every LUMACAST collection begins with a blank page, not a competitor's catalog. Ideas are explored, refined, tested, and challenged until every proportion, curve, material, and detail feels inevitable. The result is a collection of original fire features, water features, and furnishings that are sculptural in form, purposeful in function, and built to stand the test of time.
We believe the objects people gather around often become the backdrop to life's most meaningful moments. Designing them is a responsibility we never take lightly.
Built Together
I’ve spent more than two decades exploring what concrete can become—not simply as a building material, but as a medium for thoughtful design. Long before LUMACAST existed, I became fascinated by concrete—not because of what it had been for thousands of years, but because of what I believed it could become.
That curiosity eventually led me to pursue a Master of Architecture, where I dedicated my graduate thesis to exploring the future of high-performance architectural concrete. The work was later recognized for its innovation with the graduate program’s highest thesis honor.
Exceptional design has always been a collaborative pursuit. From the very beginning, LUMACAST has been shaped by talented designers, engineers, makers, craftspeople, photographers, graphic designers, and problem-solvers who share the same commitment to thoughtful design and uncompromising quality.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside remarkable people—some who sought us out, others who took a chance on an ambitious vision. Together, we’ve challenged one another, refined countless ideas, and built a company where craftsmanship, curiosity, and continuous improvement are woven into everything we do.
If LUMACAST has taught me anything, it’s that enduring companies are never built by one person. They are built by people united around a shared vision, shared standards, and a shared commitment to making something exceptional.
