Electronic Ignition System Terms of Sale

These Terms of Sale (“Terms”) apply to the purchase of Fire By Design's Electronic Ignition Systems (“Product”) from Lumacast, Inc. By proceeding with the purchase, you (“the Client” or “Customer”) agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Availability

The Electronic Ignition Systems are available exclusively to customers purchasing a new Lumacast fire feature or to existing Lumacast product owners. Due to demand constraints, we are unable to process individual sales outside of these criteria. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

2. Third-Party System

The Electronic Ignition Systems are provided by a third-party manufacturer, Fire By Design. Please note that Lumacast, Inc. is not responsible for warranty coverage, maintenance, or repairs of these systems. All inquiries and claims related to the system must be directed to Fire By Design. Clients are fully responsible for all aspects of the system’s maintenance and performance once it has been received.

3. Ignition Requirements

The Electronic Ignition System requires an external switch to energize the ignition line. This external switch is not included with the purchase of a Lumacast fire feature, nor is it located on the fire feature itself. The responsibility to select, purchase, and install the appropriate switch lies with the customer or their contractor.

4. Activation Method

The Electronic Ignition System cannot ignite autonomously. It can only be activated when it receives energy from a direct input in the circuit system. Activation requires an intentional action, such as flicking on an external switch or triggering the ignition through a smart home system interface. Any claims of accidental or self-activation are invalid, as the system is specifically designed to require human intervention to energize the electrical line leading to the ignition system. The end user, contractor, or installer is fully responsible for ensuring proper setup and activation to avoid unintentional damage.

5. Installation

For safety and operational efficiency, the installation of the Electronic Ignition System must be performed by a licensed trade professional. This is a mandatory requirement as per the manufacturer's guidelines, regardless of the chosen delivery method, including White Glove Delivery. The customer or contractor must ensure that the installation is performed in accordance with all applicable local codes, regulations, and manufacturer guidelines. The end user is responsible for any costs associated with incorrect installation or failure to meet safety standards.

6. Maintenance & Longevity

To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of the Electronic Ignition System, it is recommended that the burner opening on the fire feature be covered by an all-weather cover or tabletop when the system is not in use. While the inclusion of the WaterStop system in all Lumacast burners greatly mitigates the risk of water damage, for extended periods of inclement weather, such as rain or snow, it is strongly recommended that an all-weather cover be used. Failure to properly maintain the system may void any applicable warranties.

7. Operation Disclaimer & Liability

It is essential to understand that accidental activation of the Electronic Ignition System—particularly when the system is energized with the tabletop in place—can cause significant damage to the entire unit, including the concrete shell, burner system, and tabletop. Such damage is not covered under Lumacast’s or Fire By Design’s warranties. The customer or contractor is fully responsible for ensuring that the ignition system is properly set up and operated to prevent unintentional activation. If accidental ignition occurs, neither Lumacast nor Fire By Design will be held liable for damages, repairs, or replacement costs. The burden of verifying proper operation and prevention of such issues falls entirely on the customer.

8. Warranty & Repairs

Lumacast, Inc. is not responsible for any warranty claims, maintenance, or repairs of the Electronic Ignition Systems. All warranty and maintenance issues must be addressed directly with Fire By Design, the manufacturer of the system. Clients should contact Fire By Design for any warranty-related inquiries or repair needs. The customer assumes full responsibility for the system's upkeep and is liable for any maintenance or repair costs. Failure to comply with the manufacturer's guidelines, including improper use, neglect, or accidental activation, may void the warranty. The customer must ensure that the system is used and maintained properly, as specified by the manufacturer.
